Welcome and Introduction

In Ayn Rand’s novel Atlas Shrugged one her heroes, Ellis Wyatt, defiantly blows up his oil field rather than surrender his business – his life’s work – to a collectivist government edict. One of the wells cannot be extinguished, creating a torch that served as a symbol – known as Wyatt’s Torch – for the flame of individuality and reason. Although we will cover a wide range of subjects, from commentary on current events to book reviews, these values will be the constant theme underlying our comments and analysis.
